Needs Request

At SLO City, we want to be a church that shows up when life gets hard. Our Benevolence Team offers one-time financial assistance to individuals and families in San Luis Obispo County who are facing an unexpected hardship. We’re here to help with practical needs and to walk with you in compassion and care.

We can provide up to $600 for urgent needs like utility bills, rent, vehicle repairs or registration, emergency medical expenses, and emergency transportation. While we’d love to help in every situation, we’re not currently able to assist with housing, credit card debt, phone or internet bills, pet expenses, or counseling.

To apply for assistance, you’ll need to be a resident of San Luis Obispo County and have a referring partner—someone who knows your situation and can speak on your behalf. This could be a teacher, pastor, counselor, employer, or caseworker. Their input helps us understand your need and respond wisely.

Once your request is submitted, our team will review it during our weekly meeting and follow up with you afterward. You’re not alone—we’re here to help however we can.
